Jon Richardson's career is on the up - you may recognise him as Alan Carr's support on his 2006 tour, or from his BBC6 music show, or from his recent Best Newcomer nomination at the Edinburgh Fringe. Also appearing is Dave Twentyman, an affable lad from St Helens with a charming improvisational style.

The North-East's biggest Comedy Club is coming to Hartlepool's Dockfest in July!

Featuring: SEAN LOCK,
IVAN BRACKENBURY, LEE NELSON, MC JASON COOK

Well how's this for a gig! Captain of Channel 4's hugely successful show 8/10 Cats, Sean Lock brings his hilariously surreal comedy to Dockfest. A hyperactive imagination, crazy imagery and insightful commentary on the human condition. Our absolute favourite stand up. Also playing is 'funnier than an entire series of Alan Partridge' Ivan Brackenbury (The Telegraph) and chav charmer Lee Nelson. MC for this very special show is Jason Cook.

We are over the moon about this one! Quite simply the biggest new comedy star to emerge in recent years returning to the grand setting of Middlesbrough Town Hall's main auditorium - a venue where he took the roof off last time he appeared.

This man has moved effortlessly from playing small club shows to selling out arenas, and Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow - his new, prime time show for BBC1 - is a runaway hit with

audiences and reviewers alike. But he loved his last gig in Middlesbrough so much that he's chosen us for an exclusive, one-off warm-up prior to main leg of his forthcoming tour. How good is that?!

Michael was nominated for Best Live Stand Up at the 2008 British Comedy Awards, performed twice at the Royal Variety Show and his DVD has become the highest selling debut stand-up DVD of all time. Nothing more to say but pick up the phone... Now.

For Justin Moorhouse, Channel 4's Phoenix Nights, sell-out tours and a multi award-winning radio show have made him a household name in his native North of England.

And Jason Cook - stand-up supremo in his own right - returns as MC. Something a bit special this one.

Selling fast – book now to avoid disappointment.

We're delighted to present an extra show on the Joke Technician tour for all those who missed out on tickets for Jimmy's sold out appearances back in March and November. Says Jimmy, "This show is exactly the same as last year's except every single word. It's rude, crude and offensive but those aren't the only reasons you'll enjoy it". Book early for this one, Jimmy is always a sell-out!

Comedy goes camping as we move to our new home for the evening - a Big Top in Preston Park.

Featuring:
ROGER MONKHOUSE,
BILL WOOLLAND,
MC MATT REED

One of the most intellectual comics in the business, Roger Monkhouse oozes class delivering wry observations and killer one liners in a posh Surrey accent - that has somehow failed to be crushed by his far too many years living in the north. A great contrast with Bill Woolland who will be opening the show with his mischievous Scouse humour. Matt Reed comperes.

Known for his socialist politics coupled with a very English delivery, Jeremy Hardy is best known for his radio work - on The News Quiz and his long running series Jeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nation.

His unmistakable nasal drawl with lashings of dry wit is in turn acerbic, lewd and endearing. And while other comics who use politics as the bedrock of their act sometimes fail to connect with their audience,

Jeremy's radical views are sweetened with the charm that his Radio 4 listeners adore.

A true political activist, he is as famous for his documentary Jeremy Hardy vs the Israeli Army as for being fired as a columnist for The Guardian for, allegedly, supporting the Socialist Alliance in his writings.

'Comedians often get stuck looking for new material, but only Jeremy would get himself shot at.' Mark Steel.

Dave is best known for co-writing and co-starring with Peter Kay as Jerry St Clair in the hit TV show 'Phoenix Nights'. He has gone on to become a regular on our TV screens, most recently as team captain on Channel 4s hit show '8 out of 10 Cats' and also as host of 'Bullseye'.

On his new show Dave says; 'Come along and laugh at tales
of stunned guinea pigs, wasp

allergies , my wife the nun, dancing for dobbers, laxative chocolate, the sun going round the moon and the many ways you can "make your own fun". Hopefully you'll go away in much better health PLUS if you laugh for one hour you'll burn off 200 Calories and that's a pint of lager! So basically, what I'm advising is, for maximum benefit I'd encourage you to laugh at absolutely everything and then it will do us both a world of good.'

Host of BBC 4's The Late Edition, stand-up, writer, presenter, actor and environmental campaigner, Marcus Brigstocke is a busy man. You can also hear him on Radio 4 more often than the Shipping Forecast.

TV appearances range from Live from the Apollo to 'Have I Got News For You - as both host and panellist; and from Question Time to Marcus Brigstocke's Trophy People.

He once spent time in France for 'Excuse My French' in which he had 4 weeks to learn the language, almost from

scratch, then perform stand up in French to audiences in Marseille and Paris. More recently he has successfully transferred 'I've Never Seen Star Wars' from Radio 4 to TV.

He is fanatical about snowboarding - so much so he is the artistic director of the Altitude Festival in the French Alps. Last year he joined KT Tunstall, Jarvis Cocker, Martha Wainwright and a 30 strong team of scientists, thinkers and activists on board a Russian Research vessel on th East Coast of Greenland getting to know the Inuit people.
