Welcome back!
We are delighted to bring you the eleventh chapter of the Middlesbrough Music Live story - another mind-boggling array of great new talent spread over a dozen locations in the heart of our town centre.

Music Live takes over central Middlesbrough like no other event in the town's history, and is now making waves nationally – with the likes of The Sunday Times, the Telegraph and the Guardian ranking us alongside major players like Glastonbury and V among the Top 100 Festivals in the U.K. for the past couple of years.

Venues big and small ringing to some of the freshest sounds around. All for free, courtesy of Middlesbrough Council and a host of partners.

How good is that?

New for 2010
This event has never been the same for two years running, and the regular changes and adaptations are something that we pride ourselves on.

For 2010 we’re using the Town Hall Crypt as a bigger and more prestigious platform for our indoor Homegrown Stage – showcasing the finest Teesside talent.  We’re also delighted that the Central will be running a new ‘anything-goes’ stage downstairs in the venue.

And finally, look out for the new KidCentral area in mima gardens – facepainting, instrument-making, puppet workshops, a bouncy castle to put a smile [and possibly a bumble bee or butterfly] on the faces of your little ‘uns!

A Middlesbrough Council Event

Middlesbrough Music Live is brought to you by Middlesbrough Council with support from a range of funders and commercial supporters.

Event co-ordination is Graham Ramsay, Phil Saunders and Bryan Stubbs of Ten Feet Tall, for Judith Croft and Middlesbrough Council's Culture and Tourism team.

Technical co-ordination is by Martie Illingworth.

Graphic design is by Marty Collantine, with a little help from his pals Jamie Wisdom & Dani Jones.

Don't bring your own drink!

In order to improve the security and atmosphere of the festival festival-goers
will not be able to bring their own alcohol on site.

A security team will be checking all bags at the main site gate, and anybody found carrying alcohol will be REFUSED ENTRY and banned from attending the event. There will be an express lane at the main gate for those without bags, so our advice is travel light and you'll get in quicker!

We would also like to remind you that other than the licensed festival site, Middlesbrough town centre remains an alcohol free zone and that drinking in the street could lead to your arrest. Now that WOULD spoil your day out for sure, so don't do it!

As in previous years there will be a range of licensed bars to cater for anyone who still wants to have a drink while watching the show [I.D. may be required for those under 21].

Thanks for your support in helping keep this festival safe, fun and family-friendly.

A few house rules

This is a family event with a zero policy towards drug use.

Please drink in moderation.

Please help us keep the site tidy. Our cleansing team will be distributing
free refuse bags, and there will be bins situated across the main arena.

No stagediving - for your own safety, and that of others.

We've supplied loads of extra toilets this year, so please respect our neighbours and
don't abuse their gardens.

Lost Childern / First Aid

Please see map for location of Lost Children and First Aid points.

-
Are refreshments available on site?

Yes - there will be licenced bars and a range of catering outlets all
around the site.
