THE BEERPIGS
6.00pm

myspace.com/thebeerpigs

20 years of high-octane inspired, well chosen covers from these ex-Guests (for those with long memories). Expect anything from new wave angst to classic guitar pop and even the odd soulful groove. You might have caught this lot strutting their stuff recently on the main stage at the Town Hall's packed-to-the-rafters St Patrick's Day party. Not your average cover band. Expect ramped up versions of the likes of Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl, Scissor Sisters' Don't Feel Like Dancing, The Monkees' I'm a Believer and Stone Roses' She Bangs the Drums.

  ELVIS TRIBUTE (Niall Southall)
5.00pm

niallsouthall.co.uk

We first came across this fella when he was conducting marriage ceremonies in our fake Vegas chapel at The Empire on Valentines' Day. (Some funny goings on that night - I can tell you!) Anyway, we've been through a few Elvis impersonators over the years and Niall is one of the best we've ever encountered. His show features songs from the raw early 50s right through to the lavish Vegas performances. His costumes come direct from Memphis. In fact, this man eats, sleeps and breathes Elvis - even his three youngest children are named after the king - Eve Grace (after Gracelands), Theo Presley and Jude Elvis.

  FRANTIC SOUND COLLECTIVE
4.00pm & 3.00pm

New side project from the legendary Mike McGrother - manic fiddling frontman from one of Teesside's all time most popular bands The Wildcats of Kilkenny, alongside ex- bandname Andy Johnson whose been wowing local audience with a series of critically acclaimed solo albums over the last few years. The ethos is based around a core band numbering five in total with additional guest musicians dropping in on a gig-by-gig basis. (Hence the collective bit of the name and the thrillingly unpredictable nature of the set lists. Today they'll be playing a couple of sets for us - the first drawn from pop influences cross the board; the second with more than a hint of twisted Celtic shenanigans.

THE CASH MACHINE (change to brochure)
2.00pm

myspace.com/thecashmachineband

We booked this lot as a Hank Williams tribute but it turns out they'd rather do a Johnny Cash set for Music Live and of course we couldn't be happier. Forget any images of tired old country and western club bands you might have - this lot are young, sharp dressing and super cool.

Personally recommended by our good friend Mr Luke Harding of The Waiting Room in Eaglescliffe, this four-piece from Leeds look, dress and sound the part. The Man in Black is backed by guitar, fiddle, lapsteel guitar and double bass, and you can expect everything from Walk the Line to Folsom Prison Blues and A Boy Named Sue.
