THE
RUMBLE STRIPS
9.15pm - 10.00pm
myspace.com/rumblestripsuk
Let's get rrrrrrrrreaaaaaaady to rrrrrrrumble
strips! Favourites
of (and collaborators with) Mark Ronson, The Rumble Strips are the
perfect festival band thanks to toe-tapping tracks like 'Alarm Clock',
'Motorcycle' and 'Girls and Boys In Love' which are guaranteed to
get the most stubborn of legs shaking. New album 'Welcome To The
Walk Alone' was produced by the aforementioned Mr Ronson and is
scheduled for release this summer on Universal Island Records' imprint
Fallout Records. We can't wait!
"An unstoppable slew of urgent,
high-stepping, pure white soul hits - this band just swing. If
you see The Rumble Strips live, I defy you not to have a good
time - and that's what this 'gig' malarkey is all about isn't
it? 8/10" Drowned In Sound

GOLDEN
SILVERS
8.15pm - 8.55pm
myspace.com/thegoldensilvers
Signed to the legendary XL Recordings imprint (Vampire Weekend,
Dizzee Rascal, White Stripes etc), Golden Silvers are a thoroughly
intriguing proposition. New single "True Romance" is a
bona-fide dance-floor classic full of massive pop-hooks, 60s psychedelia
synths and Bowie-esque beats. NME recently gave their debut album
a rather glowing 8/10 review and they were pretty impressed by the
live side of things too:
"Golden Silvers unleashed a compelling
and pogo-inducing set of disco and psych-rock-tinged scatter pop,
particularly the groove-ridden floor-stomper of 'Shakes' to 'Lily
The Lover''s frantic rhythms, skew-whiff keyboards and sweetly
sung melodies. However, it's Prince cover 'It's Gonna Be A Beautiful
Night' - complete with horn section which segues into anthemic
first offering 'Arrows Of Eros' - that really sends people wild."

TOMMY
SPARKS
7.15pm - 7.55pm
myspace.com/tommysparksmusic
With the relentless pop onslaught of new single "She's Got
Me Dancing", Tommy Sparks has certainly got us dancing! Has
he got you dancing? If not, he will have soon! Commanding beats
and bleeps alike, Tommy Sparks is a one man musical army coming
to lay siege to your brain. Fearlessly flinging himself at genres,
Tommy has already picked up some very BIG admirers. He's written
a track with his boyhood dance hero Liam Howlett for the Prodigy's
new album, he's toured with - and played bass for - indie goliaths
Bloc Party and he's crafted incendiary remixes for White Lies and
Lady Ga Ga. Oh, he was also recently hand-picked by Ladyhawke to
support her on her latest European tour

THE
QEMISTS
6.15pm - 6.55pm
myspace.com/qemists
Brighton bunch Qemists absolutely blew us away when we saw them
at The Empire earlier this year, so we thought it was only fair
to bring them back to Boro for the festival. They've collaborated
with the likes of Mike Patton and Wiley and by the time Music Live
comes around, they'll have just completed a world tour with Enter
Shikari. Imagine that! Imagine this:
"This is the future of music. What the
Prodigy hinted at" - Zane Lowe
"A truly inspirational debut album."
- Kerrang
"Musical mayhem, from the interface between
metal,
techno and drum'n'bass" - Sunday Times
"Could give the rejuvenated Prodigy a
run for their
money." - Rock Sound

THE
CHAPMAN FAMILY
5.20pm - 5.55pm
myspace.com/thechapmanfamily
Favourites of Zane Lowe, NME and Eamonn Holmes, the phrase "local
lads done good" could've been invented for these chaps. Already
a misanthropic favourite of tear-stained rockers everywhere, the
band's no-surrender battalion of white noise and dark truth is moving
forward and creating an ever-growing army that is seeing them being
whispered as a modern day equivalent of the Manic Street Preachers.
Strange then that they don't sound anything like the Manics! Imagine
a firestorm of feedback drenched punk with the dynamics of The Sex
Pistols, the intensity of The Fall and the discordance of Shellac.
They love the X Factor just as much as they love Sylvia Plath and
they're not sorry.
"The Chapman Family are set to make Stadium
Rock
great again!" Artrocker

DAN BLACK
4.25pm -
5.00pm
myspace.com/danblacksound
Hailing from Paris (via London), former Servant frontman Dan Black
first rose to prominence as a solo artist courtesy of *THAT* Notorious
B.I.G. cover HPNTZ. Described by the Guardian as "a piece
of chillaxed rapmospherica that managed to be both soothing and
sinister. A one-time Zane Lowe Hottest Track In the World, it
featured Black's yearning vocals over a mash-up of Rihanna's Umbrella
beat and some sweeping strings from John Carpenter's film Starman
and sounded a bit like The Verve's Bittersweet Symphony being
tickled in a back alley by Mike Skinner." Imagine that. Recent
single "Alone" was an absolute pop gem and reminded
us here at MML HQ of the catchiest aspects of Phoenix, Chromeo
and Prince

BLACK BOX REVELATION
3.30pm -
4.05pm
myspace.com/theblackboxrevelation
We love these Belgians so much that we're flying them over for
two exclusive performances! Just for you. Live on stage, The Black
Box Revelation are indeed a revelation. Combining the best ingredients
of idols like Led Zeppelin, The Datsuns, The Rolling Stones, Black
Rebel Motorcycle Club and The Stooges, they've been making quite
a name for themselves in their native country thanks to unbelievable
performances at festivals like Pukkelpop and Dour. Their debut-album
"Set Your Head On Fire" was produced by Triggerfinger
drummer Mario Goossens, mixed in LA by Greg Gordon (Wolfmother,
Jet, Soulwax) and mastered in NYC by Fred Kevorkian (Iggy Pop,
U2, White Stripes). Not bad names to drop, eh?

SCREAMING LIGHTS
2.35pm -
3.10pm
myspace.com/screaminglights
The Zutons and Sound Of Guns aren't the only Scousers on this
year's Music Live bill! Nope, we've also got brand new Liverpool
lot Screaming Lights performing too. Fresh from tours with White
Lies, Mystery Jets and Late Of The Pier, big things are expected
of these boys in coming months and fans of bands like Interpol,
Editors and Joy Division will be in for an absolute treat. Recent
single "Phenomena" hints at a band who could well follow
in the footsteps of some of their hometown's biggest stars and
it's fully justified that the likes of Zane Lowe, John Kennedy
and Jo Whiley are already waxing lyrical about the band.

SOUND OF GUNS
1.45pm -
2.20pm
myspace.com/soundofguns
Liverpool's Sound Of Guns let loose with a breathtaking barrage
of good old fashioned indie rock'n'roll! Sounding like the most
visceral aspects of The Courteeners, The Enemy and The View, their
live performances are fast becoming the thing of legend with blood,
sweat and tears all coming as standard. With new single Architects
coming out the day after Middlesbrough Music Live, it's no surprise
that various tastemakers have been enjoying the Sound Of Guns:
"A fantastically unashamed and rousing
piece of guitar riffage!" Steve Lamacq BBC Radio 1
"Eclectic, raw and equipped for something more, their musicality
is paramount" The Fly
"A band everybody is excited about" Huw Stevens BBC
Radio 1

OFFICIAL SECRETS ACT
1.00pm -
1.30pm
myspace.com/officialsecretsact
As seen touring with The Rakes and Art Brut, Official Secrets
Act are gearing up for a summer of festival slots including Dot
To Dot, The Great Escape and Glastonbury. Its alright for
some isnt it? Musically, OSA are an amalgamation of some
of the finest musical treats that Britain has ever produced
whack some XTC, some Libertines and some Pulp into a mixer and
blend it into a collection of unashamedly pop gems. Jingle jangle
guitars, sharp-as-a-knife lyrics and melodic hooks a plenty, could
we have the UKs answer to The Killers or Arcade Fire? Quite
possibly.
"OSA's style of post-artrock completely
succeeds... they're definitely going to cause ripples in the here
and now. 4/5" Uncut

BE QUIET. SHOUT LOUD!
12.15pm -
12.45pm
myspace.com/bequietshoutloud
Middlesbrough's very own disco-beat boys Be Quiet. Shout Loud!
will take you by the scruff of your neck and shake you around
like ragdolls! Their musical cacophony of double drumming, slick
funking, cowbell whacking rock and roll sits somewhere between
The Music and The Infadels with maybe a hint of early Dartz! in
there too!? Since forming just over a year ago, they've appeared
alongside Iglu And Hartley, One Night Only and The Chapman Family
to name but a few and they also represented Teesside at the Olgas
Rock Festival in Oberhausen (Germany) last year. Guten Tag! Completely
at home on the big stage, get down early to see Jake Radio and
the boys shake off their hangovers...
