Ten years. More
than a thousand acts. Hundreds of thousands of visitors....we've
come a long way since our first relatively modest event in millennium
year.
Music Live now takes over central Middlesbrough like no other event
in the town's history, with venues big and small ringing to some
of the freshest sounds around.
Some of the most exciting new bands in the world. On your doorstep.
For
free - courtesy of Middlesbrough Council and a host of partners.
How good
is that?! |

New for 2009
We celebrate our tenth birthday with our
very first festival fringe. The Warm Up features three action-packed
days of music, comedy, street gigs and more at venues and outdoor
sites across the town.
Also new this year is the Harry Houdini stage upstairs in the Empire,
with a deliciously eclectic posse of hot new groups. There's also
the welcome return of the Cosmos stage - beautiful sounds from Tees
Valley's premier leftfield record label. And we've teamed up with
Braziliant - the Boro-based celebration of all things Brazilian
- which will be taking place in the mima garden for a samba-sensational
session in mima gardens. |

Don't bring your own drink!
In order to improve the security and atmosphere
of the festival festival-goers
will not be able to bring their own alcohol on site.
A security team will be checking all bags at the main site gate,
and anybody found carrying alcohol will be REFUSED ENTRY and banned
from attending the event. There will be an express lane at the main
gate for those without bags, so our advice is travel light and you'll
get in quicker!
We would also like to remind you that other than the licensed festival
site, Middlesbrough town centre remains an alcohol free zone and
that drinking in the street could lead to your arrest. Now that
WOULD spoil your day out for sure, so don't do it!
As in previous years there will be a range of licensed bars to cater
for anyone who still wants to have a drink while watching the show
[I.D. may be required for those under 21].
Thanks for your support in helping keep this festival safe, fun
and family-friendly. |

This is a family event with a zero policy
towards drug use.

Please help us keep the site tidy. Our cleansing team will be distributing
free refuse bags, and there will be bins situated across the main
arena.
No stagediving - for your own safety, and that of others.
We've supplied loads of extra toilets this year, so please respect
our neighbours and don't abuse their gardens. |
