Never been to a comedy night before? Here's our top tips guide to a typical Ten Feet Tall comedy
club show

Get there early

You get the pick of the best seats and you'll be able to sit next to your mates.

Drinks & Food

At some of our gigs we serve food, always worthwhile checking in advance in case you want a snack during the night. Pitchers of lager are available at most venues to save those frequent bar trips. Try not to get completely trolleyed, we don't want to ask you to leave because you're 20 times over the limit!

Line-ups subject to change

Yep, it's the nature of the UK circuit. If you want to see a specific comedian always double checks the listings.

Times

Most of our venues open at 730pm, with the shows starting between 8pm – 830pm. We always try to have things wrapped up by 11pm.

Before the show start

We let you know the show is starting in 5 minutes, so you can nip to the loo, the bar or just to settle in for the night.

The MC

The MC is the glue that holds the night together and we have the best in the country regularly playing for us. They'll chat with you, have a laugh with you (not at you or at your expense) and they introduce the acts.
They'll also ask you to switch your mobiles off or to silent (you don't want a comic answering it for you!) and they ask you not to chat with your mates when the acts are on stage. We want everyone to enjoy the show but a table chatting can spoil the show for others around you. Save the chat for the break is what we're asking.

Heckling

It's part of stand up comedy but there's a fine line between the odd funny heckle to persistent unfunny heckles. The comedians playing the night have sets to perform in a given time, so interruptions can disrupt them and you might not get the full set they planned.

The acts

We always have 2 professional comedians on the bill and a professional MC with a break after every act. We also like to encourage new acts, so we give them short spots in the middle. You never know if you're watching the next big star (Sarah Millican – she did some of her first gigs with us).

The staff

We're here to help, we want you to have a great night out and we'll do our damdest to give you one. If you've got a problem come and chat with us, please be polite and treat us with respect.

Furniture

Try not to Feng Shui the tables and chairs to suit yourself. We know how to set a room up perfect for comedy, and we also have keep fire exits and walkways clear.
